A Brief Biography
A native Texan, I grew up in San Antonio, and went to North East schools: Ridgeview Elementary, Nimitz Middle, and I graduated from Lee High. I decided to go away to college, and graduated from the University of Notre Dame, in South Bend, Indiana (go Irish!). When I decided to become a teacher, I went to Brown University in Rhode Island to complete my Masters in Teaching. After starting my teaching career as an English teacher in Houston, I later moved to Austin. While teaching in Austin, I realized that my favorite parts of teaching were talking about books, and helping students do research--so I decided to become a librarian! So...I went back to school again to complete a Masters in Library and Information Science from UT-Austin. That was over fifteen years ago, and I have loved every minute of it since. I have worked in both middle and high school libraries in Texas and in New York City, but have found my love with middle school...and was very excited to join the "Tex" Hill MS Community in August 2014. |
